Aluminum Boat Flooring Leaking Aluminum Boat...center Keel?

Leaking aluminum boat...center keel? - aluminum boat flooring

Boat (12 ') has a leak, when the sides meet the floor at the front ..... small crack (1 / 4 inch or less) at this point .... seems that an original cap or a plug in the gap, which may have been in place by a screw or held?
Is there a replacement or to fill the gap or not?
Thanks

If you know, welders, can be easily repaired.
Or contact welding of aluminum with a capacity of TIG welding.
Your other option is to fill it with epoxy, but it is a temporary solution, like other
Welding is the only permanent settlement

There is something that you get from most welding supply stores called "green stick." That's what it .... it sticks to 3/8x12 "and would only sounds that road you have to make a hole. It is easy to use by heating the aluminum (after cleaning), so the heat melts the metal stick. You just rub it in the hole and smoothing, before completely cooled. You can take the torch so as not to be called up with Wal-Mart or any hardware store. BernzOmatic. It's cheap and not so cheap, but things work.

This material is very resistant and the patch is not now. I have on my boat and I have friends who are welders who prefer over the seam on their boats.

Please do not use a repair kit for fiberglass in an aluminum boat. Just do not continue. It will crack and break eventually.

I had a similar problem, and fills the hole with silicone sealant used to place the seal on my windshield car for two years without any problems seal. This is a clear gel that requires several hours to set. Once it is established that rubber recalls.

My 18 "Aluminum Boat Jon had the same problem. I lifted the front, wash them well and apply the silicon rv blue on the outside, but my boat is still in the lake with my parents. It was three years ago not spill. If the hole was placed in the boat at the factory, a rivet in it. if he brought his boat to use on a lake or stream, you should think about finding someone to a coil of aluminum in mig her to a permanent or a person who has good seal with a stick welder. I advise against, if the welder does not know what he or she is burning a bigger hole in their boat and to complicate the problem then you will get an update of aluminum over the hole. suggesting that the silicon, it is easy and cheap. Good luck, Scott.
